A once-in-a-generation city birthday, marking 50 years since Saigon-Gia Dinh was named after President Ho Chi Minh. The evening's centrepiece was a fireworks display from 21:00 to 21:15 at 16 locations across the city - 2,840 high-altitude and 360 low-altitude shells, including the city's first water fireworks, launched on the Saigon River. The central venue was the entrance to the Saigon River Tunnel in An Khanh ward.
